Welcome Home!!
Finally after all of these years we have an association formed so we can keep track of one another.This group compiled of combat engineers,mechanics,cooks, machine operator's,clerks,S1,2,3,4,and officers who somehow worked together in a hostile area of Viet Nam Black Horse as it was called.Now reunion at Nashville were the men who built the base camp from nothing. I hope all you enjoy this if there is something you don't like e-mail me and we'll see what can be done. You Ladies to are more than welcome we can get together on line to chat and get to know one another again without the war.Most of these few pictures were take when I was there 12/69 thru 2/71 I realize most of the brothers attending the first reunion were the boat people the first men to enter Viet Nam. A message from John Frye our first two year President of 31st Engineer Battalion Association.
The First Announcement:
Veterans of the 31st Engineer Battalion (Combat)(Army), their spouses and guests met in Nashville, Tenn 22-25 Oct 2009 for the battalion's first reunion since Vietnam. During that time together, it was decided to form a 31st Engr Bn Association comprised of all 31st veterans and their families and to hold reunions every other year. Volunteers from the Association will be selected to perform tasks necessary for successful 31st events, including reunions. This website is one of the first products completed by the Association, led by Webmaster Dennis Bair.
It is designed for your use and information; so you can keep track of one another, get together on line to chat and get to know one another again. If you have suggestions for improvement of the website, please let Dennis know. In the meantime, please use it to reconnect with your friends and comrades in the battalion, from earlier days Thank You!!
